A Tulsa-area high school marching band will be far from home on Thanksgiving this year.

The Renegade Regiment Marching Band from Union Public Schools was selected out of hundreds of nationwide applicants for one of nine marching band performing slots in the 2020 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Union’s performance will mark the second time in seven years that the band has earned a prestigious invitation to participate in the iconic parade, having also earned a spot in the 2013 event. The parade is attended by 3.5 million people annually, with another 50 million viewers tuning in from around the country.
