Susie Maxwell Berning was nominated for the World Golf Hall of Fame Class of 2021 and officially inducted in this year in March.
She began her career at Oklahoma City University as the first woman to earn a scholarship playing golf (she actually had to play under the alias of a male name). After her college career, Maxwell Berning quickly moved on to her first LPGA event, the Muskogee Civitan Open. Since then, she has successfully won the U.S. Open three times.
Watch her acceptance speech and witness her love for the sport the next time she hits the links.
