U.S. electric vehicle startup Canoo is coming to Oklahoma. The company announced that after an extensive facility location search, it plans to build a “mega microfactory” at the MidAmerica Industrial Park in Pryor.
The mega microfactory will be located on a 400-acre site near Tulsa and will include a body shop, a paint shop and a general assembly plant for its pod-shaped vans that it calls “lifestyle vehicles.”
The Canoo plant will open in 2023 and bring 2,000 new jobs to Oklahoma, marking a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to diversify its economy and branch into new, innovative industries.
