Much of the biographical drama, which opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, Aug. 30, was filmed in Guthrie. It is based on Paul Kengor’s book, “The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism,” which traces the president’s life from his childhood to his presidency, as told by a former KGB agent, portrayed by Jon Voight.
