Interviewing is not easy. In fact, it can be very difficult to learn about a person who can make or break your company in such a short meeting. Here are some things that every interviewer should do:
• Prepare a list of questions tailored to the role you’re hiring for. Behavioral and situational questions help you judge a person’s skills.
• Stray away from the generic questions like “What’s your greatest weakness?” These are overused and ineffective.
• Improve your judgement. Unconscious biases can harm your judgement and lead to wrong decisions.
• Rate candidates’ answers with a consistent scale.
