Bright Future Ahead for Newly Renamed Nonprofit

Prevent Blindness Oklahoma, the state’s only nonprofit working to advance children’s education through better vision, has changed its name to Vizavance.

Last school year, Vizavance provided 365,156 children with free vision screenings and has provided over three million since 1965. They expect to reach even larger numbers this year, providing 121 school screenings in August alone.

“Eighty percent of the information students learn is translated to the brain visually,” said Dianna Bonfiglio, President and CEO. “So while our name has changed our mission remains the same: provide free vision screenings for Oklahoma’s next generation of innovators, achievers and leaders.”
